OSHaRE is gearing up for a busy week of serving up meals to those in need.
Executive Director Colleen Trask-Seaman says they always try to make sure they have enough food to feed everyone who visits the organization over the holidays.
“We are planning for between 400 and 450. Last year we served just over 350, so just trying to make sure that we have extras and we will use the leftovers on the days following Christmas,” says Trask-Seaman.
She is anticipating a large crowd after seeing a rise is demand during Thanksgiving.
People in need of a Christmas meal will be able to head over to OSHaRE for both eat-in a take-out dishes.
“It starts on Dec. 22 with our OSHaRE Christmas happening from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., which will be a full-course roast beef dinner. Then on Dec. 23 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., we will be hosting the SOS Market. Dec. 24, always great to have leftovers, and then Dec. 25, we will be open from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for turkey dinner with all the trimmings,” says Trask-Seaman.
She is thankful to the community for stepping up and ensuring OSHaRE is able to provide meals to people in need.
Anyone wishing to support OSHaRE leading up to Christmas can either donate online here or visit the organization in person in Owen Sound.
