There were no injuries in a collision in Owen Sound involving a police cruiser.
Owen Sound Police say a cruiser stopped at a red light at around 12:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon was struck from behind by another vehicle. The collision happened at the intersection of 9th Avenue East and 8th Street East, near the top of the 8th Street hill.
City Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck the police car was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving.
“Police remind motorists to remain attentive and maintain a safe following distance to prevent similar incidents,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
