Some wintry weather is set to hit the Grey Bruce region.
Snow squall warnings are in place across Bruce and Grey counties, with flurries, squalls and blowing snow expected today. Environment Canada forecasts most of the region could see 10-20 centimetres throughout the day, and some additional snowfall tonight.
But a lot more snow could fall in the Saugeen Shores area. Forecasters are calling for 15-25 centimetres there, and another 30-40 centimetres tonight into Friday morning.
“Lake effect snow off of Lake Huron is expected to intensify this morning. Lake effect snow bands will shift considerably throughout the day before becoming more stationary tonight,” Environment Canada says in its warning. “Travel may be extremely hazardous. Road closures are possible. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.”
All school buses in Bruce and Grey counties are cancelled today. Schools remain open.
