A 37-year-old Barrie man faces a raft of charges including possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and uttering threats after an incident yesterday (Sunday, Nov. 23).
Police were called to the area of Yonge Street and Cox Mill Road around 5pm for a report that a man inside a residence was involved in a dispute with a woman and was armed with a knife.
After he was arrested, police located a loaded handgun, with ammunition, as well as the knife.
The suspect was held pending a bail hearing.
