There are Remembrance Day ceremonies planned throughout Grey Bruce Tuesday.
In Owen Sound, a ceremony will be held at the cenotaph. A parade will begin at the Royal Bank at 10:30 and proceed to the cenotaph for a service at 11 a.m.
In Tara, a Remembrance Day ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph at 10:45 a.m. There’s a reception following the ceremony at the legion.
In Paisley, a WWI ceremony is planned at the cenotaph for 11 a.m. followed by a WWII arena ceremony and then lunch at the legion at 12. There is also a roast beef dinner planned at 6:30 at the legion. You can reserve a plate and e-transfer $30 a plate for the dinner.
There will also be a service at the cenotaph in Chesley.
In Wiarton, a Remembrance Day parade and service at the Cenotaph starting at 10:50 am,
In Northern Bruce Peninsula, 2025 the town says there will be a Remembrance Day service at the Monument Corner Cenotaph on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., and then at the Lion’s Head Cenotaph at 11:00 a.m.
For the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 290 in Tobermory there will be a ceremony at the cenotaph starting at 10:40 a.m.
In Southampton, you’re invited to gather at the cenotaph at the bottom of High St. Tuesday at 11am for Branch 155 s Remembrance Day Ceremony.
In Kincardine, there will be a service at the cenotaph at 11 a.m.
In the evening there will also be a ringing of the church bells ceremony from 7-9 p.m. at the Knox Presbyterian Church. An event poster says it will be a “respectfull tribute honouring the brave sacrifices of Canada’s soldiers who fought and died for their country.”
In Dundalk the parade will move off from the legion hall at 10:45 tot he cenotaph at the Dundalk parkette. Following that, the parade will return to the legion hall for an inside service and lunch.
There will be a ceremony at the cenotaph in Chatsworth at 11 a.m.
In Hanover, a parade and ceremony at the cenotaph is planned. The legion is also hosting a roast beef meal at 1 p.m. with a guest speaker and awards.
The Walkerton Legion is holding a ceremony and parade to the cenotaph at ahead of 11 a.m.
There is a ceremony scheduled in Mildmay at 1:15 p.m. The legion says both services will be streamed on its Facebook page.
In Meaford, a 10:30 parade will end at the cenotaph at Meaford Hall at 11 a.m. for a ceremony.
In Grey Highlands, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 333 will be hosting Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Flesherton Memorial and Markdale Cenotaph as well as in Eugenia and Priceville on November 11th at 10:45 a.m.
Meanwhile, To honour and remember those who served, the CN Tower is offering complimentary general admission on Nov 11th to Canadian veterans, Legion members and members of the Canadian Armed Forces. The CN Tower will also be lit poppy red.
