Saugeen Shores police say they responded to a weapons related incident at Saugeen District Senior School in Port Elgin today.
They say, they received a report from Saugeen District Senior School that required an immediate police response and as a precaution, school staff placed the school in what police describe as a lockdown while officers investigated a weapons-related incident they say occurred outside of the school.
The school board says the lockdown was initiated just after 2:30 p.m. and remained in effect for just over half an hour as police dealt with a situation outside the school.
According to police, their investigation resulted in the arrest of an adult male and a female youth.
After that, police say there was no ongoing threat to students or staff, and students were able to resume normal activity.
Police say their investigation remains ongoing.
