Scarecrows are hard at work in Saugeen Shores, not just giving birds a fright, but also collecting donations for the local food bank.
The Chantry Island Cham-bettes, a local community charity group’s Sharecrows Community Scarecrow Tour is on now and it’s a town-wide food drive and scavenger-hunt-style adventure.
You can download a tour map online by donation and drive around to see creative scarecrow displays that have bins with them for you to leave non-perishable food items in.
The Sharecrow tour runs until Halloween.
Organizers say proceeds and food donations stay local, helping stock community food banks.
You can also drop off additional food items and donations at the Boathouse in Southampton beside the Coliseum at 26 Albert St S, Southampton on Nov 1st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
