The Town of Hanover is celebrating the four locals who took the gold in the fourth Provincial Lawn Bowling Championship.
Council recognized Katrina Carter, Patricia Kaufmann, Sandy Weatherall, and Jill Calvert-Goetz from the Hanover Lawn Bowling Team on Monday after competing in the championship in June at the Hanover Lawn Bowling Club.
Mayor Sue Paterson says, “Your victory is a testament to skill, focus and teamwork. Leveraging your home turf advantage, you worked together seamlessly to rise to the top of the podium, an accomplishment that makes all of Hanover proud.”
The players also went on to represent Ontario at the national championship in Edmonton.
“It was a tremendous honour and opportunity to showcase the talent and sportsmanship that defines our community. On behalf of council and the Town of Hanover I want to thank each of you for representing Hanover with excellence and for inspiring others to pursue their passions, both on and off the lawn bowling green,” says Paterson.
