You can have an Owen Sound Attack Hockey player serve your table Wednesday night at Boston Pizza.
The Attack Hockey Fights Cancer Celebrity Serve is set to take place October 22nd from 5:30 to 8p.m.
Four members of the Owen Sound Attack will be at the restaurant to try their hand at serving for a good cause.
The event supports the local Canadian Cancer Society chapter’s Wheels of Hope program that provides rides from the area down to major centres for people receiving cancer treatment away from home.
You can meet the players, take photos, and ask for autographs.
Reservations are recommended, especially if you’re aiming to be there between 6 and 7 p.m.
Boston Pizza is also donating $1 from its Triple Play appetizer to Hockey Fights Cancer until November 8th.
The Hockey Fights Cancer game is Saturday, November 8th, in Owen Sound against the London Knights.
It includes a number of fundraising activities including the bucket pass, where you can donate your change as a bucket gets passed around the stands, the chuck a puck challenge which has a prize this year of Toronto Maple Leafs tickets, a ride to and from Toronto provided by Driver’s Seat and $500 spending money.
There is a silent auction with prizes that include West Jet tickets to anywhere in Canada, a Storybook Park prize, a kids kayak, gift baskets and lots of other items to bid on.
There is a new, dark Attack Hockey Fights Cancer game jersey and also a new hat design this year. You can also donate for an ‘I fight for’ sign to support the fundraising event.
