Owen Sound Police are appealing for tips to help identify a driver allegedly involved in a recent fail to remain collision.
City Police say it happened downtown at the intersection of 10th Street East and 3rd Avenue East, just prior to 11 a.m. last Friday.
“A pickup truck was travelling eastbound on 10th Street East approaching 3rd Avenue East when the suspect vehicle failed to yield and turned left in front of the truck, resulting in a collision in the intersection. The suspect driver stopped briefly,” Owen Sound Police say in a release. “A short time later the suspect fled the scene, southbound on 3rd Avenue East and was last seen turning right, westbound on 9th Street East.”
Police describe the suspect driver as a female, between the ages of 60 and 75. They say she has grey hair, medium length, and was wearing glasses.
“The suspect vehicle was described as a (five-to-10) year old Honda CRV, charcoal grey in colour, with visible damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle,” police say.
Owen Sound Police say the driver of the truck avoided injury.
