Bruce County is going to get its first look into the 2026-2030 operating and capital budgets this week.
Director of Corporate Services Sam Dinsmore says looking ahead to the 2026 budget, staff are projecting a 5.97 per cent tax increase.
This increase would see homeowners with properties assessed at $240,000 paying an additional $72.
Some of the major funding featured in the proposed 2026 budget include over $8 million for road work, $7.8 million for paramedic services, $9.9 million for long term care and senior services, and over $4 million for the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.
The tax levy increases are also projected to increase to 7.61 per cent in 2027, 7.79 per cent in 2028, before dropping to 4.7 per cent in 2029 and 4.32 per cent in 2030.
Council will review the projected budget during its meeting on Thursday.
