Nearly two dozen charges were laid in a break-and-enter case in Exeter.
OPP say they were called about suspicious activity at a retail business along Main Street South, and arrived to find a rental truck backed into the property.
Police say they observed a suspect flee on foot upon seeing officers.
The rental truck was determined to be stolen from London, and a rifle and replica handgun were located in the truck.
A canine unit was able to track down two suspects, one of whom was in possession of a replica handgun.
A 21 year old from Acton has been charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Disguise with Intent
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Resist Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Release Order – (two counts)
A 59 year old from London has been charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Resist Peace Officer
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order – (three counts)
