The nomination deadline is coming up to recognize the work of a community member with this year’s YMCA Peace medallion.
The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce is inviting you to nominate a person or a group whose efforts embody the values of peace. They are listed as participation, empathy, advocacy, community and empowerment.
Nominations will be reviewed by a committee, with the recipient announced during YMCA peace week which is November 16-23.
The deadline for nominations is October 18th.
Last year there were two winners: Joan John, founder and leader of JunCtian Community Initiatives (JCI) in Dundalk and Walkerton based Barb Vandenbor, who was honoured for her leadership in addressing rural homelessness and food insecurity.
