The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie is looking for input on its 2026 spending priorities.
An online community input survey on next year’s budget is open until September 24th.
The questionnaire asks what your top priorities are for municipal spending, whether that’s roads, recreation, tourism, parks, bylaw and other options.
It asks about your level of satisfaction with municipal services and what area you would prefer to see a reduction in municipal spending in.
It also asks if you would support a small tax increase to fund some projects and leaves room for you to write down your thoughts.
The current year’s budget is a $15.7 million spending plan. $11.9 million is for operating expenses that keep the municipality running and $3.8 million is for capital expenses for projects. It’s supported by $7.3 million in tax dollars which meant a blended tax rate increase of about 4.5 per cent for an average of $45 more in 2025.
There are 14 questions about the upcoming 2026 budget.
