The Wingham & District Hospital got a big donation to help those being treated for cancer.
Officials announced a $19,500 donation from Katrina Klemp, her family, and friends in support of the hospital’s Oncology department.
The funds will go toward purchasing new patient chairs to improve comfort and care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
Klemp is currently undergoing cancer treatment, and says the fundraising was deeply personal.
According to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation, the top fundraising priority for the year is upgrading the full fleet of vital signs monitors throughout the entire hospital.
