The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is unveiling its newest art exhibition this weekend.
The new Art and Soul: Watercolour and Batik in Harmony exhibition by Bev Morgan of Hanover is open to all on Sept. 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Watercolour Batik is a technique which combines melted wax and watercolours on rice paper and the artist builds up layers of colour and wax to preserve tones before crumpling the paper to absorb darker pigments. The artist then irons away the wax, revealing patterns.
The Hanover artist has been associated with the Southampton Arts Centre since 2011 and has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2018.
She is a local teacher, and has shared their techniques with students worldwide.
More details on the free exhibition can be found here. Guests are asked to RSVP online.
