A Central Huron teen is out thousands of dollars, following what police call the bank card scam.
OPP say a 19 year old received a call from someone claiming they worked at the victim’s banking institution, who said the teen’s bank cards had been compromised and needed to be picked up.
According to reports, an individual arrived at the victim’s house and took their cards.
The teen later discovered $5 thousand had been stolen from their accounts.
“This is a good time to remind everyone to never provide your PIN (password) digits to anyone. Banks will never attend your home to pick up debit or credit cards,” says Provincial Constable Craig Soldan of the Huron OPP.
