Bruce County is holding a new Cultural Symposium this fall to discuss ways to enrich the local cultural landscape.
The Common Ground: Connecting Through Culture in Bruce County event is being held on Oct. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chesley Community Centre.
Artists, cultural organizations and community members are invited to attend the event to share their ideas and look at ways they can expand local culture.
The event will include keynote speaker Heather Keam, who will talk about the culture of volunteering and the contributions volunteers make on maintaining and growing initiatives.
Additionally, there will be networking sessions and local youth will facilitate small group discussions about culture and community.
Bruce County Director of Library Services Brooke McLean says, “The Cultural Symposium is a powerful gathering of voices, ideas, and creative energy. Through dialogue and collaboration, we’re strengthening the role of arts and culture in the social and economic fabric of our communities.”
