A nearly two-week fire ban in Huron County has ended.
The burn ban was implemented August 5th, following drier than normal conditions throughout July.
“With the recent rainfall and improved conditions across the county, outdoor burning can now safely resume in accordance with municipal by-laws and any required permits,” a news release from the Fire Chiefs says.
“Residents are reminded to continue using caution and to follow safe practices when burning.”
Roughly 13 millimetres of rain fell in Huron County in July, with the majority (8.7 millimetres) on July 26th.
Comparatively, June saw roughly 84 millimetres of rain.
