The Maple Leaf Marinas annual fundraiser raised double its goal this year in support of local hospitals.
The 6th Annual Fuel Your Hospital Fundraiser was held over the Civic Holiday long weekend earlier this month, and raised $40,000, smashing its original goal of $20,000.
The event encouraged boaters to fuel up at any of Maple Leaf Marina’s 21 locations, and up to 20 cents per litre went directly to six hospital foundations across Central Ontario, including Brightshores Health System Owen Sound Foundation.
Maple Leaf Marina President Derek Lubert says this year’s results exceeded all expectations.
“The generosity of our boating community, our partners, and our dedicated team is truly inspiring, and these funds will have a meaningful impact on healthcare in our regions,” says Lubert.
Since the fundraiser began in 2020, its has raised over $156,000.
