Home and Community Support Services (HCSS) of Grey-Bruce is taking part in The Grand Parade next month.
The five kilometre parade on Sept. 20 at the Heritage Place Shopping Centre parking lot in Owen Sound is a fundraising walk which assists local charities who support aging Canadians and their families.
HCSS Manager of Community Development Cody Hay says she is very excited to be taking part in the parade.
“This is our first time signing on with The Grand Parade,” says Hay. “Anyone can sign up to participate as a fundraiser and a walker. We are aiming to fundraise $20,000 and we are very excited because currently we are at 34 per cent of our goal with $6,900 fundraised and we are hoping the community come our to help us reach our goal.”
She adds the funding will go towards support for seniors and adults with disabilities in Grey Bruce.
“It’s going to be a really fun day, but most importantly here is the cause at the core. Home and Community Support Services provides services to help seniors and adults with disabilites in Grey Bruce,” says Hay. “Contributing to this and participating as a fundraiser and donating, you will really see that impact in the lives of our community members are your neighbours.”
