Barrie Police netted a repeat offender and charged him with serious criminal offences after responding to a parking lot near Johnson’s Beach last night around 11. The call was regarding about 40 people doing burnouts in vehicles and other disruptive behaviour.
At the scene a 17 year old Barrie male was investigated for possession of cannabis…but a search of a satchel he was wearing revealed far more – a loaded semi-automatic firearm as well as suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, as well as Canadian cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
In all, he was charged with 17 firearm and drug offences, including a youth criminal justice act probation order. And under that act, he cannot be named.
A bail hearing was scheduled for today.
