Collingwood OPP have charged two local drivers with offences including stunt driving after being stopped early yesterday (July 28).
An officer conducting speed enforcement saw the two, aged 21 and 22 racing on hwy 26 east of Poplar Sideroad travelling westbound.
Speeds recorded topped 148km/hr in a 90.
Both drivers were charged with Speeding and Stunt Driving – One of the drivers was additionally charged with use of an authorized plate.
They’ve been relieved of their vehicles for 14 days, and had their licences suspended for 30 days. They’re invited to court on September 19th and can surely look forward to some sweet insurance hikes.
The OPP say they will continue proactive enforcement efforts to promote safe driving across the region.
