The Wiarton Homecoming is set for the August long weekend.
It’s a celebration of community spirit and it all takes place downtown and by the bay.
Chamber of Commerce President and Co-Chair of the event Joe Vanderzand says the weekend from August from August 1st to 4th is full of activities, especially on Saturday and Sunday.
Activities include live music, fastball, bingo, kids games, a foam party, and the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre is bringing games and challenges. There’s a touch a truck event, cornhole tournament, car show, rotary breakfast, pig roast, fish fry, 50/50 draw in support of the Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation and a home and lifestyle expo.
There will be a drone light show, and Bayshore Broadcasting’s 97.9 The Bruce’s Bruffer will be broadcasting live from the event starting at 7 p.m. the drone show is due to start at 10 p.m.
Money raised at the homecoming will benefit local organizations and community projects.
Some events are ticketed.
