The U19 Transcontinental Owen Sound Northstars girls field lacrosse team had an exciting and hard-fought weekend at Provincials in Waterloo, competing in the B Division.
The team finished with an impressive record of three wins and one loss, earning them the bronze medal.
The North Stars’ offense was led by Ryann Seaman, who netted an outstanding 11 goals throughout the tournament.
Ella McCoubrey and Sarah Barfoot added four goals each, while Michelle Kocher, Avery Seaman, and Jenna Cranny scored two apiece.
Ally Scott, Katie Marshall, and Lily Shute each chipped in with a goal, contributing to a well-rounded team effort.
In net, Marly Woodhouse delivered exceptional performances in all four games, anchoring the team with clutch saves and consistent play.
The North Stars’ defensive unit was a major factor in the team’s success, keeping the games low scoring with tight coverage and tenacious play.
Caitlin Tran, Willow Smith Spinney, Cali Hill, Grace Smyth, and Lauren Neil led the defensive charge, shutting down opponents and protecting their net with discipline and determination.
It was a memorable weekend of teamwork, skill, and grit, capped off by a well-deserved place on the podium.
