South Bruce OPP say a large police response to an incident in Mildmay has concluded.
At about 3 this afternoon, police were in the area of Peter Street and Absalom Street West after a report of a barricaded person in a residence on Peter Street.
OPP say they responded with the assistance of the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and OPP Canine. Crisis Negotiators and Bruce County Paramedic Services were also on scene.
OPP said in a social media post at the time, “We believe there is no threat to public safety. Updates to follow.”
They say at about 5:20 p.m., one person was taken into custody.
OPP add, “The incident has resolved and resources are clearing. There was no threat to public safety.”
