A Port Elgin man faces charges in relation to an incident at the Meaford Harbour.
Grey Bruce OPP say they responded to a report of a man in possession of a suspected firearm at the Meaford Harbour just before 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
“Officers located the individual near a children’s recreational area. The individual complied with police demands and was taken into custody without incident,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a release. “Following the arrest, the item in question was determined to be a replica airsoft handgun.”
The OPP say a 32-year-old Port Elgin man was charged with several offences, including public intoxication and possession of break-in tools.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing in Owen Sound today (Wednesday).
