The fourth quarterly meeting of the 100 Good Men Who Give A Damn was staged Tuesday night at the Best Western Inn on the Bay in Owen Sound.
The group, which now has close to 200 members, heard three presentations from charitable community organizations. After a group vote, a cheque of more than $19,000 was presented to the Grey Bruce Pregnancy Centre.
Leanne Hoekstra of the Grey Bruce Pregnancy Centre relates the cheque represents the largest donation the centre has ever received and the money will be put to good use.
“We’ll be using that money towards programs at the centre. And we’ll also be using that money towards material items we need: car seats, strollers, cribs, maternity clothes, baby clothing … formula,” Hoekstra says.
The 100 Good Men will celebrate their first year of operation at their next meeting in October.
