
Bracebridge OPP say that one person suffered serious injuries in a boating collision on Skeleton Lake, and another person is facing charges.
Yesterday afternoon just before 5 pm, police, along with Muskoka EMS and Muskoka Fire, were called to the scene of the collision between a boat and a swimmer.
The incident happened near Skeleton Lake Road 5 in Muskoka Lakes Township.
The swimmer, a 22-year-old Georgina man, was taken to a Toronto-area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The boat operator, a 39-year-old man from Niagara Falls, is now charged with impaired operation causing bodily harm, failure to provide a breath sample, failure to stop at an accident causing bodily harm, and failure to comply with a release order.
He’s been held for a bail hearing.
