Some more skill is in the fold with the Owen Sound Attack forward group.
The team announced Wednesday afternoon the signing of Nicolas Sykora to a standard Ontario Hockey League player agreement.
He is the son of NHL alumnus Petr Sykora, who played 16 seasons at the game’s highest level between 1995 and 2012.
Sykora, 18, was Owen Sound’s third-round pick, 57th overall, in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. The Roseland, New Jersey native spent the 2024-25 season in the USHL with the Sioux City Musketeers, recording 33 points (14-19–33) in 44 games.
“Nicolas is a highly skilled very smart offensive forward that we believe will add to our top six immediately,” Attack GM Dale DeGray says in a release. “We feel Nicolas this past season in the USHL was underutilized and has a lot more growth potential moving forward. We would like to welcome him and his family to the Attack organization.”
Sykora is looking forward to the opportunity in Owen Sound: “I’m fired up to officially sign with the Owen Sound Attack, this is a huge moment for me. From the first conversation, I could feel the passion and the drive here and I knew it was the right fit. I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got, grow as a player and do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.”
