Two men are now facing charges after Grey Bruce OPP recovered $106,000 worth of stolen property.
Police were investigating several break-and-enter incidents that had taken place in Grey and Dufferin Counties.
On July 15th, the OPP had gotten a report of a stolen Ford F-650 U-Haul truck in Melancthon Township, that was linked to the investigation.
At around 8 am on the morning of July 16th, Dufferin OPP received a call about a suspicious vehicle on Southgate Road 4.
Two people were arrested without incident.
A search of the vehicle, a U-Haul truck, led to the recovery of tools and other items that were reported stolen during a recent break in that took place in Meaford.
Later that day, just before 4 pm, police carried out a search of a property in Melancthon, where an 18-foot flatbed trailer was seized.
The two men, a 51-year-old from Southgate, and a 44-year-old from Shelburne, are each charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of break-in instruments.
They’re expected to appear in an Owen Sound courtroom on August 21st.
