Bruce County is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event later this month in Wiarton.
The event on July 26 at the Town of South Bruce Peninsula Works Garage from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., will allow residents to dispose of their garbage in an environmentally friendly manner.
Attendees can dispose of items including paints and stains, propane tanks, used oil, batteries, antifreeze, solvents, and more.
Commercial, agricultural, and industrial waste will not be accepted, as well as PCB’s, ammunitions, and flares.
Only containers of 30 litres or less will be accepted and empty metal paint cans are blue box recyclable.
