A male youth faces weapons charges after allegedly drawing a knife during a dispute in downtown Port Elgin.
Saugeen Shores Police officers responded to a report of weapons just before 1 a.m. early Friday morning, after receiving information a group of males had engaged in a verbal altercation and one of them brandished a knife.
Police officers arrived on scene and detained four males. One of them — a 17-year-old visitor to Saugeen Shores — was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
