The persons of interest in a Meaford counterfeit money investigation have been identified by police.
An OPP spokesperson confirms the development, saying the investigation is still ongoing.
Grey Bruce OPP say two people made a late night trip to the Circle K on Sykes Street North just after midnight on July 2, and tried to pay with fake $20 bills.
After they were denied, the pair then used real currency.
OPP say it’s not clear if they knew their bank notes were counterfeit.
