The Town of Saugeen Shores’ new Aquatic and Wellness Centre is receiving a $50,000 donation from a local hotel.
The donation from Summerside Hospitality Group, the owner of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Staybridge Suites Port Elgin, increases the number of community partners and residents who are contributing to the project.
Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau says they are grateful for the donation.
“This investment in our community reflects the spirit of partnership and a shared commitment to enhancing recreation and quality of life in Saugeen Shores,” says Charbonneau.
The town broke ground on the project in 2023, which is set to include an eight-lane competitive pool, a leisure pool, a fitness centre, walking track, gym, and multi-purpose program rooms.
People and businesses interested in supporting the project can take part in the Commemorative Brick Campaign by purchasing a personalized brick which will be displayed at the facility.
