Grey Bruce OPP says two people are facing several charges following a fatal collision earlier this year in the Township of Southgate.
On Jan. 27 around 8:40 a.m., police responded to a fatal crash involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Grey Road 9 and Southgate Sideroad 71.
A 49-year-old and 15-year-old from Kitchener were pronounced dead and a 19-year-old sustained serious injuries.
Police say the driver of the commercial vehicle was arrested following an investigation.
The 52-year-old accused is charged with two counts of dangerous operation causing death, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, three counts of driving a commercial vehicle with a major defect, improperly driving a commercial vehicle with a minor defect, failing to accurately complete a daily inspection report, four counts of failing to enter defects in daily inspection report, failing to report defect to operation, driving a commercial vehicle without required inspection, driving a vehicle with no current valid permit, having obstructed windows, improper means of attachment, and push rob stroke exceeding prescribed limit.
Police also charged the owner of the commercial vehicle, a 41-year-old from Bolton with thee counts of failing to ensure performance standards are met, failing to ensure daily inspections are conducted properly, and failing to ensure daily inspection report is accurately completed.
Both the driver and owner are set to appear in court in Owen Sound this month.
