What started out as a traffic complaint near Huntsville turned into drug trafficking related charges for two people.
Huntsville OPP received a call about an erratic driver on Northbound Highway 11 near Huntsville just before 10:30 Thursday evening. Officers were able to find the vehicle in question with two people inside on West Road.
The driver was quickly identified as a suspended driver and was then arrested, but police also noticed that there was a suspected controlled substance in the vehicle.
The driver, a 29-year-old from St. Catharines, was charged with driving while suspended and failure to stop at a stop sign, as well as two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime.
The passenger, a 22-year-old from Huntsville, is also facing drug trafficking related offences. They were released from custody with an August 5th court date.
