Grey Bruce OPP say they have seized a large quantity of drugs in Southgate.
They say their Community Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of multiple specialized OPP units, has concluded a significant drug trafficking investigation that began this past May.
On June 27th, search warrants were executed at multiple residences in the Southgate area.
The operation involved members of the OPP West Region and Central Region Tactics and Rescue Units (TRU), Emergency Response Teams (ERT), Canine Unit, and several Community Street Crime Units from across the province.
Police say during the execution of the warrants, detectives seized:
-65 grams of suspected cocaine
-8 grams of suspected heroin
-10.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine
-Five prohibited weapons/devices, including an overcapacity handgun magazine
-A stolen motorcycle valued at approximately $5,500
-Suspected drug trafficking paraphernalia
-Approximately $550 in Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $10,300.
Police say, “This seizure represents a significant disruption to the local drug trade.”
A 38 year old Dundalk woman is charged with:
•Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
A 43 year old Dundalk man is charged with:
•Possession of a Weapon Knowing it is Prohibited (Five counts)
•Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin
•Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
A 39-year-old Dundalk woman is charged with:
•Possession of a Weapon Knowing it is Prohibited (Five counts)
•Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin
•Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
