Kelso Beach at Nawash Park in Owen Sound came alive yesterday to celebrate Canada Day.
Festivities began Tuesday morning with several vendors set up at the park, including various artists, food trucks and both local and out of town stores.
Owen Sound Events and Activation Coordinator Jen Wright says the day was packed with lots of activities.
“We have got inflatable games, we got a striker, we of course have our pony ride, face painting, we have got some Canada Day tattoos, a ton of food trucks, a ton of vendors this year, there is actually over 80 vendors this year. We have got music in the park all afternoon and then we head over to the main stage at 7 p.m. for opening ceremonies,” says Wright.
She adds the vendors were excited to attend Canada Day in Owen Sound.
“We have a lot of repeat vendors from last year who saw some great success here,” says Wright.
Wright says she was happy to see such a large crowd attend this year’s event.
“It’s good to see people out after yesterday’s (Monday) weather. We were a little apprehensive, but the skies have cleared and once again, we have beautiful weather here in Owen Sound.”
The day capped off with a massive fireworks display.
