Three people have been arrested and charged in relation to a break-and-enter at a downtown Owen Sound business.
Owner of Zong Vaporizer and Smoke Shop Asif Khan says his store on 9th Street East was broken into early Sunday morning, and thousands of dollars in goods were stolen.
He says an e-bike, cellphones, laptops and cash were among the items nabbed.
The business was broken into from the front glass door, which was smashed to gain entry.
Owen Sound Police say they determined seven different individuals entered the business after the initial break and enter, and each “were responsible for stealing various items.”
“During the evening of Monday, June 16 and into the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 17, three of the identified individuals were located and arrested by police and held in custody pending bail hearings,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
Two men of no fixed address, ages 38 and 55, were arrested and charged with break, enter and theft. A 33-year-old female of no fixed address was also arrested and charged.
“Further arrests are expected, and police are encouraging those responsible to turn themselves into the Owen Sound Police Service,” a release from city police says.
