The Owen Sound JEWL Creative Playgrounds North Stars suffered their third consecutive loss Tuesday, losing to the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks 16-6. The loss drops the North Stars overall record to 1 win and 3 losses on the season.
K-W came out strong, dominating the first quarter and jumping out to a 6–1 lead after just 15 minutes of play. Owen Sound’s lone goal was scored by Laine Nissen.
The Kodiaks continued to control the pace in the second quarter, adding six more goals to take a commanding 12–2 lead into halftime.
Although the North Stars battled back in the second half – matching Kitchener-Waterloo with four goals apiece – the early deficit proved too much to overcome, and the Kodiaks cruised to a comfortable victory.
Nissen led the attack for the North Stars with three goals. Single markers went to Taryn Lee, Madison Playter, and Edyn Beyer.
The JEWL squad will look to rebound on Friday night when they take on Kawartha.
