The Township of Georgian Bluffs is completing sidewalk scanning this month.
The work is part of the town’s ongoing work to make sure sidewalk infrastructure is safe and accessible.
Using scooter-mounted sensing technology, StreetScan will be collecting data to assess the state of the sidewalks within the Township.
Issues like cracks and tripping hazards will be used to help staff prioritize replacements and repairs.
Sidewalk scanning is non-invasive, and won’t cause and traffic disruptions. Residents are asked to watch out for the scanning scooters and allow them space to complete the survey work.
