The Owen Sound North Stars Creative Playgrounds JEWL women’s lacrosse team lost both their home games on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday night, the North Stars fell 19-3 to perennial power Oshawa Lady Blue Knights. The North Stars started strong and finished the first quarter down only 2-1. From that point on, it was all Oshawa who cruised to the easy victory. Laines Nissen scored two goals for Owen Sound while Edyn Beyer added a single.
Saturday afternoon saw the Toronto Beaches defeat the home squad by a score of 12-8. The North Stars again had a strong first quarter which finished with them leading 2-1 on the strength of goals by Edyn Beyer and Bree Wilkins.
Toronto scored three times in the second quarter to lead 4-3 at the half and never looked back from that point outscoring Owen Sound 8-5 the rest of the way.
Laine Nissen again led the North Stars with four goals, with singles going to Beyer, Wilkins, Aliviah McCall, and Madison Playter.
Next action for the North Stars will be June 10th when they play Kawartha.
