On Monday (May 26th) fire crews from Port Carling, Windermere, Raymond and Milford Bay were called to a reported structure fire before 9 am.
Upon arrival officials noted there were three other structures nearby that needed protection under threat from a fully involved cottage fire.
Crews spent 5 hours extinguishing the fire using lake water. There were 16 firefighters on scene and 5 large apparatus.
No injuries were reported and the three other structures were saved.
In a Facebook post the fire department advised the public to ensure that homes have proper civic address signs and to call 911 from Muskoka in the event of a fire or call fire dispatch directly if you are out of the area.
