The 2025 Grey Highlands Ram Rodeo is set to take place this weekend.
Mayor Paul McQueen says, “Everybody’s excited for the rodeo.”
It’s set to go May 24th and 25th at Osprey Community Centre.
He adds, “It’s our fifth annual rodeo and fun filled events with regards to a family outing for all, and we have a great deal of sponsors that are sponsoring the rodeo along with the Feversham District Kinsmen are providing both Saturday and Sunday breakfasts and also they are having a country dance on the Saturday night. ”
McQueen says, “The rodeo is being hosted on the Feversham Ag Society grounds which they have looked after for many, many years. We sort of came up with the idea that the sponsors would provide the venue as far as the cost but all proceeds go to the Markdale Hospital Foundation.”
McQueen says over the last four years, it has raised close to $150,000 for the hospital foundation.
“So we’re hoping to have another good year and continue to fundraise for that foundation,” says McQueen.
Both Saturday and Sunday the event kicks off with a ”Feversham Kinsmen’s Cowboy Buffet Breakfast’ at 8 a.m. gates open at noon on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.
There’s a kids rodeo in the afternoon followed by the Ram Rodeo competition at 4p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Grey Highlands’ website says there will be bull riding, skillful roping, and bronc riding competitions. They add, there will also be a variety of activities in including live music, food vendors, and games.
