The City of Owen Sound is holding a goods exchange day this weekend.
On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., residents are encouraged to place any unwanted, but still usable items on the curb. Anything not taken must be back inside the home that evening.
“Goods exchange day diverts usable items and materials from landfill disposal. It is also a great opportunity to declutter spaces and find new homes for gently used items,” says the city in a release.
Then on May 24, the city will be holding a household hazardous waste day event at the Public Works Facility from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is open to residents in Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Grey Highlands, and Meaford.
Attendees are asked to bring a valid ID showing their home address as well as a completed waste form, which can be found on city website here.
A full list of accepted and not accepted items can be found here.
