The third annual Cobble Beach 5km Lighthouse Fun Run has raised over $11,000 for two local charities.
It was held on April 27th and saw 303 participants, ranging in age from one to over 80.
Funds raised from the event, totalling $11,882.37, will be shared between the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey, Bruce & West
Simcoe, supporting local programs that help children, youth, and families thrive.
April McMillan, Manager of Fund Development at the YMCA says in a statement, “The 3rd Annual 5km Lighthouse Fun Run at Cobble Beach brought our community
together in an incredible way,” adding, “We are so grateful to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and supported this event.
McMillan says, “A heartfelt thank you to Cobble Beach for being a committed and generous partner over the past three years, your continued support helps make this event such a success year after year. Because of this collective effort, we’re able to provide children with swimming lessons, help seniors stay active and connected, empower youth to build resilience, and offer individuals in need a safe place to grow and belong.”
