The City of Orillia has announced that up to four dwelling units will be permitted on on a single lot across the city and will also allow for a range of residential uses on certain commercially zoned land in West Orillia.
This change will make it easier to build more homes and will help the city qualify for $4.5 million in federal housing funding from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
Previously, Orillia allowed a maximum of three units per lot. The increase to four will help property owners add more housing options in established neighbourhoods.
