The OPP say one person is dead after drowning in the Saugeen River in Paisley.
South Bruce OPP, Bruce County paramedics and Arran-Elderslie firefighters responded to a report of an individual in distress in the Saugeen River around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Police say the individual was brought to shore by members of the public and lifesaving measures commenced, but were not successful.
“A 25-year-old from Georgetown was pronounced deceased. The victim’s identity will not be released due to privacy of the family,” South Bruce OPP say in a media release.
The OPP hasn’t released any additional information about the incident.
