
Municipal flags in Kincardine will be lowered as the municipality marks the National Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace.
April 28th was chosen by the Canadian Labour Congress, and is officially recognized nationwide each year. It became part of federal legislation on February 1st, 1991.
The day is also known as Workers’ Memorial Day and is recognized by around 100 countries worldwide.
From the morning of April 28th until the morning of April 29th, flags fly at half-mast to honour those who suffered work-related disability, disease, and death.
